Style and Edit Captions - Web
You've created captions with the click of a button—good for you! Now let's make the stylish, correct spelling, highlight and more!

From the projects page, select the video you want to edit.
On the left-hand panel, you can find your video divided into scenes, with corresponding captions.
Select the scene that you would like to correct and edit the text. Your changes will autosave
If you are unsure what you said in that segment, simply click the "Play" button that corresponds to the segment you are editing. It will replay the video for just that part of the video, so you can hear what was said and correct the captions accordingly.
On each segment, you can highlight a specific part of the caption.
To highlight, right-click or double-click on the selected word you want to highlight and choose:
Highlight (word surrounded by stars: word) or
Extra Highlight (word surrounded by slash: /word/) and it will display the 2 highlighted colors of your Video Theme.
Did your captions get cut off in the middle of a sentence? Are there too many captions appearing at once because the segment is too long? Join or split subtitle scenes using the segment editor.
Choose a scene you want to edit, and click the three dots for the following options:
If the text of the captions segment is not long enough and you want to lengthen it, you can merge the segment with the previous or next one.
Click on the three dots to the right of the Segment you want to merge and select: "Merge with Prev" or "Merge with Next," depending on your needs.
You can also split the segment in two if it is too long. You can select precisely where you want to split the segment. This will adjust the next segment according to the split.
Click on the three dots to the right of the segment you want to split, and a pop-up window opens, allowing you to choose where to split
If you want to decide a precise amount of time for a segment you can select from the three-dot menu for your segment:** “Edit segment Duration”**.
A popup opens, and you will be able to choose exactly the duration of the segment you want. This will automatically change the previous and next segments.
If you want to change the style of your video theme, you can easily do it by choosing Themes in the left sidebar
Design your captions by the different themes, colors, and animations available.
🤩 If you are planning on posting your video to social media channels like Reels, Tiktok, or Youtube Shorts, choose a theme that displays text in higher in a vertical aspect ratio.
Caption Themes: Select your font style and how you like your caption to look!
Colors: Choose from the 4 available color palettes or set your own colors
Animations: Pick your caption animations on how it will flash on your video
Random Rotation: Add a little fun to your caption and it will randomly rotate as it flashes on your video
The selected theme will be the same for all scenes of your video, whether you choose one of these layouts.
You can select only one Layout for one scene. Select the scene on the right, and then click on one of the six layouts:
Captions
Lower Third
Quote
Highlight
Intro
Split
💡If your Lower Third does not have enough time to display properly, we suggest merging two scenes.
Once you're finished editing, you can now save it by clicking the Create button on the top right side of the page

Open Video Maker
From the projects page, select the video you want to edit.
Locate your Captions
On the left-hand panel, you can find your video divided into scenes, with corresponding captions.
Correct Spelling
Select the scene that you would like to correct and edit the text. Your changes will autosave

Highlight specific words
On each segment, you can highlight a specific part of the caption.

Captions Segment Editor

If the text of the captions segment is not long enough and you want to lengthen it, you can merge the segment with the previous or next one.

Split Segment
You can also split the segment in two if it is too long. You can select precisely where you want to split the segment. This will adjust the next segment according to the split.

Edit Segment Duration
If you want to decide a precise amount of time for a segment you can select from the three-dot menu for your segment:** “Edit segment Duration”**.

Layout

💡If your Lower Third does not have enough time to display properly, we suggest merging two scenes.
Save
Once you're finished editing, you can now save it by clicking the Create button on the top right side of the page
