Add photos and video overlays to your video (Web)

Add images and videos to your video to make it more creative and engaging. Your narration will play in the background.

👀 Note: In this FAQ we will explain how to add photos and videos using the Video Maker. If you also want to upload your own music and background strips, you can do it under My Uploads.


Here's how to add media overlays to your video:


Choose a Video


Open the video you would like to edit by clicking the 3 dots (1) beneath the title of the video on the project page, and selecting (2) Edit



Next, click on the 3 dots of the selected take



A popup appears you can select Open Video Maker to style your video

Once your subtitles have been generated, you can customize parts of your video before opening it to Video Maker:

  1. Select the number of words per scene
  2. Choose the layout of the first scene of your video
  3. Tick the button if you want to automatically highlight important words in your subtitles
  4. Tick the "Add Automatic B-Roll Overlays" if you want your overlays to be added automatically
  5. Once finalized, click **Open **to proceed on editing in Video Maker



Video Maker


Inside the Video Maker, go to the ** "Media" **section on the left sidebar and choose from the available source to be use as your overlay.

Overlay your Video


Uploads


  1. Select the **scene **you'd like to apply the overlay
  2. Go to **uploads **on the left sidebar; choose the file you want to use and **click the + button **to add the overlay on your selected scene
  3. You can also **upload **a new file for use



Upload or Import a File


When you click "upload" you'll be given an option to (1) select file from your computer files or import from your **(2) Dropbox or Google Drive **account



Pixabay

  • Pixabay is a free stock photography and royalty-free stock media website


  1. Go to Pixabay **on the left sidebar; Type the **keyword **you'd like to see in the **search bar and choose if you'd like an Image or Videos
  2. Choose the image from the result available
  3. Drag the image and drop it to the scene you'd like it to be

AI Images

BIGVU AI Images lets you generate custom visuals for your videos just by describing them. No more searching—create the perfect image instantly with AI.


  1. Go to **AI Images **on the left sidebar; Describe the image you're looking to use
  2. Click ✨ **Generate **



Once the result loads, you can:


  1. Regenerate the AI Images if you're not yet satisfied with the results or
  2. Save to Uploads the images you want to keep and reuse in the future by clicking the 3-dots on the top left side of the image



AI Images as an Overlay


To use the AI Images you generated:

  1. Select the **scene **you'd like to apply the overlay
  2. Choose from the generated images and click the + button to be added on the selected scene
  3. If you're not satisfied with the results, you can click "regenerate" to get another set of AI Images



Suggest

  • our AI will suggest images that's related to the scene you selected


  1. Select the **scene **you'd like to apply the suggested visual overlay
  2. Choose from the suggested viduals and click the + button to add it to your selected scene
  3. If you're not satisfied with the results, you can click "regenerate" to get another set of visual suggestion
  4. You can also generate your custom images through AI Image



Remove Overlay


Once the image is overlayed, it is possible to delete it by clicking on the 3-dots menu of the related segment and clicking on Remove Media



Save your Video


Once satisfied with the changes, you can now save your video by clicking the Create button on the top right side of the page


💡Please note: If you don't want to upload your own visuals, you can add Tweets and use BIGVU'S library and Pixabay (a copyright-free shared library) and add photos and videos to your video
