Follow the steps below on how to download an SRT file:

🤓 What's an SRT file?

➡️ It's a plain-text document that adds subtitles to a video. Also known as SubRip Subtitle files, SRT files make it easy to include closed captions to match the audio of a video. Within an SRT file are lines containing the timecode and text of each subtitle in sequential order. You can upload these files to accompany your videos in platforms such as YouTube.

Choose a Video

Open your video by (1) clicking the 3 dots next to the script project and selecting (2) Edit

Select the take you want to use and click the three dots

Generate Transcription

If you have not yet generated captions, click generate transcription in the bottom left-hand corner of the pop-up.

You will then be prompted to enter the source language; this is the language in which you spoke in the video.

If you have generated captions already, continue directly to Download the SRT file

Download SRT

After clicking the 3 dots on the take screen, look for Download SRT on the bottom left side of the window and click on it

Select the Language

Choose which language you'd like to download and then, click the Download button on the right side of it

After downloading, you will get the SRT file in your downloads folder, and you can open it using any text editor app like Notepad, TextEdit, etc.
